I love this book. It’s so well-written and easy to understand. It’s written for the non-marketing professional, but it goes beyond marketing and into more general issues. It covers: The importance of asking permission; the importance of being an informed marketer; how to successfully identify your target audience; the importance of being honest; the importance of creating a solid team; and the importance of building a strong social media presence.
Here is a great book for learning how to market on your own terms. It’s full of interesting insights and makes an interesting read. I’m sure that any aspiring marketing professional will appreciate it.
The book isn’t exactly a sales primer either. It covers everything you’d need to know to write the kind of articles you’d like to read in your local newspaper or on your blog. Of course, the book also covers how to find your best marketer, and how to do good, quality research.

It does not include the kind of marketing research youd need to get the kind of results youd like to see, but it does include some very useful stuff about the importance of setting up a marketing plan, what to avoid in marketing, and how to develop a strong social media presence.
But I’m not sure I want to read another book at this point. At this stage in my life, it would be nice to just relax and enjoy reading.
